Sobre el set WWII STUG III German Armoured Battle Tank
Build a distinctive piece of Second World War armoured history with the Sluban M38-B0858 WWII STUG III German Armoured Battle Tank. With 524 pieces, this substantial construction set captures the low, purposeful profile of the Sturmgeschütz III, an assault gun designed around a turretless armoured fighting vehicle layout. Its compact silhouette, sloped protection and forward-mounted main gun give the model an unmistakable presence on display or in a carefully arranged military collection.
The set offers an engaging project for builders aged 6 and over, combining the satisfaction of a sizeable brick build with the character of one of the most recognisable German tracked vehicles of the period. The design is especially appealing to collectors who enjoy military vehicles with practical, workmanlike shapes rather than elaborate turret arrangements. Once assembled, it makes a strong centrepiece for a historical display, a dedicated armoured vehicle shelf or imaginative battlefield scenes built from compatible construction bricks.
Sluban’s building-brick format gives this model a hands-on balance of construction and presentation. The 524-piece count provides enough scope for a rewarding session without making the project unwieldy, while the finished tank has the visual weight expected from a larger armoured vehicle model. Whether chosen as a gift for a young military enthusiast or added to an established Sluban collection, the M38-B0858 brings a memorable WWII-era vehicle to life in an accessible, display-friendly form.
Contexto histórico
The Sturmgeschütz III, usually abbreviated to StuG III, was developed in Germany on the chassis of the Panzer III. Unlike a conventional tank, it had no rotating turret; its main gun was mounted in a fixed, enclosed superstructure. This lower profile reduced production complexity and made the vehicle harder to spot, while its armour and gun allowed it to support infantry and engage fortified positions.
Early StuG III versions carried short-barrelled guns intended primarily for infantry support. Later versions received longer 7.5 cm guns and were increasingly used against enemy armoured vehicles, giving the type a prominent tank-destroyer role. The design remained in service throughout much of the Second World War and is remembered for its practical layout, low silhouette and extensive battlefield use.
