Over de set WW2 Atlantic Wall D-Day - Landing Craft & Canon Battle Set
Build a dramatic coastal assault scene with Sluban set M38-B0861, the WW2 Atlantic Wall D-Day Landing Craft & Cannon Battle Set. With 765 pieces, this substantial military construction set brings together a landing craft, a fortified shoreline position and the visual tension of an amphibious operation under fire. It is designed for builders aged 6 and up, while its subject matter and display potential also make it an engaging addition to a military collection.
The landing craft provides the centrepiece for a hands-on beach-landing display, while the Atlantic Wall-inspired defensive position adds structure, atmosphere and a clear opposing objective. Together, the elements create a compact scene that can be built, arranged and adapted for imaginative play or presented as part of a larger historical diorama. The combination of vessel, coastal defence and battlefield setting gives the model more presence than a standalone vehicle build.
Sluban’s compatible construction bricks make the set accessible to younger builders while offering enough volume for collectors who enjoy assembling detailed military scenes. The 765-piece format provides a rewarding project with plenty of scope for arranging the shoreline, positioning the landing craft and developing a narrative around the finished model. Whether displayed on a shelf or used as the starting point for a broader collection, M38-B0861 delivers a vivid D-Day-inspired setting in one complete package.
Historische achtergrond
The Atlantic Wall was a German coastal defence system built along the occupied western European coastline during the Second World War. It consisted of bunkers, gun emplacements, obstacles, trenches and other fortified positions intended to slow or stop an Allied amphibious assault. Its strength and appearance varied from one section of coast to another, but the combination of concrete defences and shore obstacles became a defining feature of the Normandy landing beaches.
On D-Day, 6 June 1944, Allied landing craft carried troops, vehicles and supplies toward beaches defended by coastal artillery and fortified positions. The craft had to approach through difficult conditions before unloading close to shore, making the landing a complex operation involving naval forces, engineers, infantry and specialist vehicles. This Sluban set captures that characteristic meeting of landing craft and coastal defence in a compact, buildable scene inspired by the Normandy campaign.
